Join the Wellheart Community

Wellheart Chartered Public School offers school-site learning, along with highly integrated place-based learning. Place-based learning addresses a need in the larger community for families whose children do learn best in distinct environments, such as at home, museums, libraries, forests, parks, work studies, rehabilitation or specialist classes/services, and other off-site locations. Further, we support families who want to spend more time together, but need or want the community of a school - it takes a village!

Open Enrollment

Wellheart serves children in grades K-8 and all NH resident students are eligible for enrollment for free as a public charter school. Once a student has been admitted to Wellheart, he or she may remain in attendance through subsequent grades.

RSA 189-24 allows for hybrid instruction with parent/guardian request. We will offer this to a limited number of families for our first year with plans to expand in year 2.

K-8 Admissions Process

Admissions are blind and students will be chosen by a lottery system with a waitlist developed from the lottery overflow.

After the lottery, we go to rolling admissions.

  1. Applications will be online and can be found on the "Apply" button in the right margin. A student may enter kindergarten if their chronological age will be five years on or before September 30th.

  2. Once open enrollment closes, if the number of applicants exceeds the number of available spaces, we will hold a lottery. The lottery process randomly selects students to fill the available number of student spots and determines the order of our waitlist.

  3. Families will be notified of the results of the lottery by the email entered on the application form. Families of admitted students have 48 hours following notification of admission to accept their placement via a commitment form. Submission of the Commitment Form will result in securing the student’s placement. If a Commitment Form is not returned to Wellheart within 48 hours, that space will be offered to the next family in line. Commitment Forms will be available to fill out and submit at the lottery location, and also emailed to admitted families.

Waitlisted Students

The students who do not get a seat will be placed on the waitlist in the order their name was drawn. If an opening occurs, students on the waitlist will be contacted in order. Students on the waitlist who do not take a seat when contacted, automatically surrender their place on the waitlist.

Out-of-State Students

For scholars who reside outside of New Hampshire, we have set an out-of-state tuition of $12,800 annually. All seats will go to New Hampshire residents before out-of-state residents are considered.

Lottery Exemptions

All applicants who apply for a seat in a grade level that goes to lottery will receive a seat at random, with the exception of the following:

Siblings

All siblings of enrolled students will be placed prior to holding the lottery.

In each of the categories above, if there are more students then there are places, then a lottery will be held for that category. These students’ names will be drawn and placed on a waiting list for the coming school year in the order in which they are drawn.
